This week our weekly exercise tips come courtesy of Toni and Roman, husband and wife personal training duo from Pro Physique UAE.

Tyre Flip

dsc_0295The tyre flip is generally a strongman exercise, which is great for working your whole body. Your legs, your back, your arms your shoulders – you name it, the tyre flip works it.

What’s this exercise good for

Great for core strength, durability, conditioning and endurance

How to do the tyre flip

  1. Get down nice and low, with your legs bent (similar to the squat position)

  2. Get your hands right under the tyre
  3. Next, drive through with your legs and back to lift the tyre and flip

  4. Repeat from one length of exercise area to the other

Ropes

dsc_0278Another exercise which is great for working your arms, shoulders, legs, biceps and core.

What’s this exercise good for

Great for core strength, durability, conditioning and endurance

How to do the ropes

The rope can be done in numerous ways, whether nice and fast alternating the arms, or doubled up together.

  1. Feet shoulder width apart

  2. Knees bent
  3. Back straight
  4. Swing rope with arms, alternating as you go
  5. Use your core to control speed

Clean & Jerk

A great all round power exercise, which involves the whole body – specifically, your legs, back, shoulders, arms and glutes.

What’s this exercise good for

Strength and conditioning

Instructions

  1. Feet shoulder width apart
  2. Legs bent, back straight (similar approach to deadlift)

  3. Jerk the bar up, onto your shoulders
  4. Adjust your feet

  5. Raise the bar up above your head
