I joined the Australian Navy in 2000 and something!

Why do you love your job?
So many reasons! It gives me the opportunity to meet amazing people from all walks of life, especially here in Dubai. I also like seeing people work harder than they ever thought was possible. I also like watching them grow and being a big part of that growth, and building a family and working as a team.

What’s your biggest tip for anyone new to working out?
One step at a time

What’s your top exercise tip?
Get a trainer!

Ah that’s so hard – I love everything! But if I had to pick one, I’d say back. I like training back because you can go from so many angles and lots of different exercises. Big movements, small movements, every angle, there’s so many muscles to work and calories to burn! So yeah, I’d probably have to say back is my favourite day in the gym.

What are your 3 essential gym songs?
Hmmm, I don’t think I can pinpoint 3 songs! But I’d say Killswitch Engage is my band. Heavy metal would be my genre for sure. But I also like a bit of Dr Dre, because he has a couple of songs which are just great to work out to. And also, I’d say Kid Ink too.

I’d say I have a bit of variety, but definitely no Britney Spears!

What annoys you in the gym?
Two things which annoy me in the gym:

  1. Sitting on the equipment for ages, using your phone and not even training
  2. People talking on the phone while they’re training

Nutrition

What’s usually in your fridge?
Nothing! No, water! Everything’s always in my Pura bag and that’s always with me.

What’s your best nutrition tip?
Keep your carbs around your workouts. So instead of having carbs all over the day, try and keep them for pre and post training. If you don’t train, don’t eat carbs. This will teach your body to regulate the carbs into the body, just for the purpose of the work out, so just for fuel and for recovery. This helps it shuttle it into the muscle, as opposed to not using the carbs and just storing them as fat.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Cake! I love any type of cake!


Pura

How did you find out about Pura?
One of the guys in the gym told me about it and I was really interested in trying it. Before, I was never into food companies, but that’s because I was very spoilt before and had someone who made all my meals for me. But now with Pura (and I’m not even exaggerating!) the only thing in my fridge is water and my stove isn’t even plugged in!

Why would you recommend Pura to your clients?
It’s easy, it’s convenient and it’s basically results guaranteed. I usually write up my clients’ needs and then send them to Pura and then they get the results – it’s so simple.

What kind of results have you seen since joining Pura?
I’ve seen some of my clients drop huge amounts of body fat, I’ve also had clients build decent quality muscle, maintain their physiques. I also prepped right up until my competition with Pura, right up till the last day and they did everything perfectly! And even now that it’s off season, I’m still eating Pura everyday – so I’d say the results definitely speak for themselves.
